Calling Parents

We do have behavior expectations that help to facilitate a happy learning environment. If for some reason, you have a child who is disrespectful, defiant, etc. and you are unable to handle the situation on your own, again seek out your age group leader or director so that we can either talk to the child
or parents if needed.

If it is to the point where it is disrupting your lesson, please use the walkie-talkie to tell the media team the child’s number. If they do not come within 5 minutes, call the floater to directly speak with the media team.

This is also the case if a child is upset for long periods of time. We generally say to try and give it 15 minutes, but PLEASE use your best judgment in ALL cases. Try and think about it as if it were your child. If they are so inconsolable even after 5 minutes they can’t breath, do not hesitate to call the parents. They will be happy knowing we are doing what we think is best for their child.

A third reason you might call the parents is if the child is exhibiting signs of sickness that may be contagious. We follow the guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Please read over and become familiar with the “Healthy Kids Policy.” Copies are available for parents, as well.
