MATTHEW 5:14-16

14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

I love the way that Jesus highlights the ultimate goal of the works that we do here. The ultimate goal is not so that we would get glory. It’s not so that we would get something good in return. It’s not even that people would know that we have real faith. The ULTIMATE goal of the good works we do is that God would be glorified in them.

Q: How does this scripture visualize what your life should look like with faith and works together?

Q: The enemy attempts to disrupt your works by making you think you cannot make a difference; that the world is too dark. How does this scripture change how you will react and push forward in those times?

Q: How can you encourage others today by letting your faith shine through the good works you do?
