MATTHEW 11:7-10

7 As John’s disciples were leaving, Jesus began talking about him to the crowds. “What kind of man did you go into the wilderness to see? Was he a weak reed, swayed by every breath of wind? 8 Or were you expecting to see a man dressed in expensive clothes? No, people with expensive clothes live in palaces. 9 Were you looking for a prophet? Yes, and he is more than a prophet. 10 John is the man to whom the Scriptures refer when they say,

‘Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you,
and he will prepare your way before you.

John’s life was one of influence, but he didn’t have political persuasions. He didn’t have a loyalty to a gym or a team. He didn’t have others speaking into one ear, so that he would promote their agenda. He had one focus, Jesus.

Q: How did Jesus talk about John to the crowd? What kind of questions did he ask?

Q: If Jesus were to ask the same questions about you, that he asked the crowds about John, what would the answers be?

Q: It has been said, “Set yourself on fire and people will come for miles to watch you burn”. In looking at your enthusiasm and boldness of faith, how does this ring true? Do you inspire others, or do they not even know of your faith?
