Ephesians 2:8-10

8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 5:14-20

This is why it is said,

“Awake, O sleeper,
rise up from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”
Living by the Spirit’s Power
15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Q: Paul encourages us that we are created for “good works” in the first passage, and then warns us to be careful how we live in the second. Would you describe your life as careful and intentional? What word would you use to describe your life?

Q: The scripture says we should be filled with the Holy Spirit, engaging in worship through music. How can you incorporate more musical worship into your life?

Q: Paul advises us to make the most of every opportunity and to understand what God wants us to do. How can you ensure you make time to recognize and act on opportunities to advance the Kingdom of God?
