1 Corinthians 9:24-26

24 Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! 25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. 26 So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing.

1 Corinthians 10:23

23 You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is beneficial.

Q: What is your approach to be successful in fighting your temptations, or redirecting your life to live holy? Do you just hope it will happen, or change just one thing in an effort to look like you are being successful? How can you run to win in all areas of your life? What ways can you be disciplined in your training to win victory over your struggles?

Q: How many things in your life are permissible, but not beneficial? How much time and energy do you put into things that don’t help you or don’t allow you to grow? What can you do to identify those things and then allow God to give you strength to prune them out of your life, so that He can then replant things that will benefit you in every area?
