Psalm 150

Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heaven!
2 Praise him for his mighty works;
praise his unequaled greatness!
3 Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;
praise him with the lyre and harp!
4 Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
praise him with strings and flutes!
5 Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

Q: How often do you praise God? Do you only praise him on Sundays when you are in church and surrounded by other believers, or do find yourself praising Him on a Monday when you are running late, with cold coffee in your mug and a forgotten lunch on the counter? What makes the difference?

Q: Can you praise God when you you don’t feel like it? Can you praise Him because He is worthy and not just because you feel like it? Do the praises that come out of your mouth change your mood? Is that because you are reenforcing your mood by playing “mood music,” or is it because you are inviting the Holy Spirit to come in and help you start anew?
