Matthew 10:1-5

Jesus called his twelve disciples together and gave them authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness. 2 Here are the names of the twelve apostles:

first, Simon (also called Peter),
then Andrew (Peter’s brother),
James (son of Zebedee),
John (James’s brother),
Philip,
Bartholomew,
Thomas,
Matthew (the tax collector),
James (son of Alphaeus),
Thaddaeus,
4 Simon (the zealot),
Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him).
5 Jesus sent out the twelve apostles with these instructions: “Don’t go to the Gentiles or the Samaritans,

Luke 10:1-2

The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit. 2 These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.

DEVOTIONAL QUESTIONS

Q: What pattern do you see in both of these scripture? Jesus calls and then does what? The Lord chose and then did what?

Q: Here’s how we say multiply in today’s church, in our church: MAKE DISCIPLES. What is a disciple? How do you define that?

Q: If you could reach one person for Christ, or even if you could invite one person to church, who would that person be? Are you praying for them?
