MATTHEW 4:23-25

Crowds Follow Jesus
23 Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. 24 News about him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzed—he healed them all. 25 Large crowds followed him wherever he went—people from Galilee, the Ten Towns,[a] Jerusalem, from all over Judea, and from east of the Jordan River.

In this passage, Jesus is taking-back the kingdom. The world is in darkness, and Jesus is here to redeem His people. From birth, the Jews are taught the Torah (the first 5 books of the Old Testament), yet we see Jesus begin to live out the intended purpose of scripture with true compassion, holiness, and love.

Q: How does Jesus begin to take back the kingdom? What do we find Him doing in this passage?

Q: Are you furthering the kingdom of God by fulfilling its purposes? If not, how can you start today?

Q: The Gospel gives us and shows us a radically different way to do life. Whose life can you impact today with the Gospel? A friend? A family member? A coworker?
