Matthew 6:33

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Genesis 18:18-19

18 “For Abraham will certainly become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through him. 19 I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.”

Q: When you are planning the perfect party, playdate, or family trip, are you doing it for your kids, or are you doing it to prove to the people around you that you are a “good” parent? In those moments are you teaching your kids how to use talents God has given you, or are you teaching them that they need to compare themselves to others?

Q: Do you feel the responsibility for your children’s ultimate life-long happiness? Is that the role that guides your decisions with them? Are you worried about disappointing them or letting them down? Is it your role to make them happy, or is it to show them that joy comes from the Lord and not experiences?
