Ephesians 2:8-10

8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Q: What will your inheritance to your children be? Will it be one that says work, sports, and commitments are the supreme measure, or are you leaving a godly legacy? Are you making them lovers of Jesus and lovers of His word? What will they say of you and your parenting when they are parents themselves?

Q: What about behavior? Why do you want to instill good behavior in them? Is it because you don’t want to be embarrassed? Is your pride and reputation that important? Are you teaching them good behavior because you want them to identify how hard it is to do things against our sinful will, and that we need Jesus’ strength to have the ability to do good?
