JAMES 1:2-4

Faith and Endurance
2 Dear brothers and sisters,[a] when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

James is very clear that our faith WILL be tested. We do not live in perfectly protected God bubbles. We will continue to face difficulties in life: afflictions, persecutions, sicknesses. In these times, know that the testing of our faith is building our perseverance. James wants us to know that there is a reason for the trial, a reason that our faith gets tested.

Q: What does this scripture say about the trials we will face in this life? How should we respond to them?

Q: Do your reactions to the trials in your life match James expectation of joy? If not, what can you do differently?

Q: Who do you know that is currently going through trials in their own life? How can you encourage them to fight for joy today and walk in endurance?
