1 Timothy 5:1-3

Never speak harshly to an older man, but appeal to him respectfully as you would to your own father. Talk to younger men as you would to your own brothers. 2 Treat older women as you would your mother, and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters.

3 Take care of any widow who has no one else to care for her.

Q: What does your family look like? Do you have one kid, or too many to count? Are you single, or have you been married for 20+ years? Are any of these families less of a family or less loved by God? If God loves them all, shouldn’t you? Do you have a heart to minister to all kinds of families, or is it only the ones who fit in the cookie cutter that you approach?

Q: What about families of different ages? If you are older, do you not have a responsibility to help train and disciple those younger? If you are younger and only just forming your own family, what wisdom could you gain by surrounding yourself with people who have walked those same steps before you?
