Hebrews 4:14-16

14 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Q: How does mercy play a role with grace? Is it the same thing? How are they different? If mercy is not getting what we do deserve, how do you show mercy to your kids, employees, co-workers? How does God show you mercy? Does He just withhold the punishment from us, or did He redirect it upon His son on the cross?

Q: If mercy is the act of being spared from judgement, then how much greater is grace? Grace is freely given and unmerited favor and yet, do you still wavier in sharing that with others? If you understand that God’s grace is getting what you don’t deserve, do you have a drive in your soul to tell others about it?
