Pastor's Blog: Sunday Leftovers from February 12

It's only the second week (but in a row!), so here's the deal: Monday's post will be a combination of thoughts from Sunday at Trinity New Life Church and leftovers from the notes from my sermons. I pray your grace and mercies as I get back in to the swing of this regular writing thing! Ok, here we go:

Let's start with the big one: yesterday was the second-largest Sunday in Trinity New Life Church's history, and the largest not on a holiday. That's just great, not matter what you think!

Remember, this series is based on The Meaning of Marriage, but you also need to get a book from Mark and Grace Driscoll: The Meaning of Marriage by the Kellers and Real Marriage by the Driscolls. Get. Both. Books.

What does it matter how many people were in the service? Do we count to make ourselves feel better? Heck no! We count because each number represents a person, and each person matters to God. EACH. NUMBER. IS. A. PERSON. We need to know how many people are in our church so we can make sure we have the systems in place to give everyone an opportunity to take their next step towards becoming a disciple of Jesus.

If we guess, it means we only care about who's already here, and not who's coming to meet Jesus for the first time, or the first time in a long time.

Mason Simmons stepped in and lead worship for us today as Bryce took a much-deserved day off. Mason did a great job!

Mason and the team did a new song for us, called Hosanna. I'll post the set list tomorrow with a link to where you can buy it from Amazon.com

BABY DEDICATIONS NEXT WEEK!!! I can't wait, I love to see whole families coming together to pledge their desire to make Christ the center of not only their lives, but their family as well.

I cannot stress this enough: SIGN UP FOR THE MARRIAGE CONFERENCE! Make your marriage better. Make it better INTENTIONALLY. Do it. Doooooo it!

Still feeling the effects of two days of wedding festivities and then a Sunday service. But big congrats to Cassidy and Brandon Mann. I only choked up once!

When our marriage series concludes we head right into a series celebrating our church's two-year anniversary, and then we roll into Palm Sunday and Easter. In other words...Here. We. Go!!!

I promise not to make one-word sentences a major part of the updates...

If you have any questions about the sermon, stuff I've covered in marriage, or stuff I haven't, send an email to info@trinitynewlife.com and we'll see if we can't answer it here or in the last message.

I had a bad week with printers...this week, in faith, will be less than horrible! ;-)

Ok, that's it for today. Tell me what you thought of yesterday!
