MATTHEW 21:6-10
The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
“Hosanna to the Son of David!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”

REFLECT
Palm Sunday celebrates and remembers the triumphal entry of the King. It’s also a little mournful since Jesus Himself knew what was in store for Him. Like the victory of the Resurrection, this moment in time also looks forward to the victorious return of the King to restore all things. Also, note the crowd’s question, “Who is this?” The Gospel writers let this question linger for the reader. Who is Jesus? Is He your Lord and King, or is He a casual connection?

Q: What do you need to lay down in your life in response to *who* Jesus is?
Q: The praises of the crowd are forever recorded in the Gospels. What legacy is your life of faith leaving for others?

"Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy."
Lord Jesus, you are the King of glory and worthy of all praise! You are holy, just, and loving. Thank you for your servant’s heart and your justice as the King of the world. Lord, teach me what I need to lay down for your honor. Amen.
