1 KINGS 2:1-3
As the time of King David’s death approached, he gave this charge to his son Solomon: “I am going where everyone on earth must someday go. Take courage and be a man. Observe the requirements of the LORD your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go

REFLECT
Pastor Mason helped us redefine success this past Sunday by reminding us that success isn’t about the American dream, how much we have, or who knows about us, but, about living the life that Jesus has called us to. One of the ways that we achieve this real version of success is by making a consistent commitment to reading the word of God. But this isn’t just a method that the church recently developed, it’s actually a command that God has given his people from the beginning. And it’s a command that God’s people passed down through generations. There’s no new trick or method to grow in your faith or live a life of gospel success. Just the same ancient, long-haul, slow-and-steady, ever-abiding, enduring disciplines that have been passed down for millennia. And there’s a reason they’ve been around so long. They simply work!

PRAY
"Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy."
I exalt you because your name is above every name. Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path. Help me to be consistent in my discipline of reading your word. Reveal to me your goodness and glory on every page. Show me daily more of who you are that I may exalt you more today than I did yesterday. Amen.
