READ

Luke 11:9-13

“9 And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 11 What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Genesis 6:5-6

“5 The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.”

REFLECT

It amazes me that mankind in all of our wicked ways still would rather define good for ourselves, instead of looking to the true standard in our Creator. We are WICKED! The only thing good about us is that He made us. We still show love and give great gifts; so why do we have an image of God being lazy, lacking empathy or sympathy, unfaithful, and selfish? That's a lie from hell. Our Father gave His only Son while we were still sinners. Then, He sent His Spirit to see that the mission is brought to full completion.

APPLY

Q: Is mankind more faithful than God?

Q: Next time it comes down to trust man vs. trusting God, who will you choose?

Q: Who could you remind today that God isn't turning His eyes away from us? Remind them that He is waiting on them with open arms.

SING

PRAY

"And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one."

Father remind me daily that no one else gave their life for the sins of the world. More importantly, there wasn't anyone else capable of doing so. There's no one who is good but you God. Yet some how I find myself defining good through everything but you. Forgive me Lord, and by the power of your Spirit continue to set my trust in you and you alone. You saved me, and you were the only one that could. Thank you. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
