GALATIANS 5:22-26
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

REFLECT
Fruit is grown, not given. When we talk about fruit in the Christian life, we mean our lives are changed, and as a result, the lives of those around us are changed as well. Fruit means using your God-given gifts to serve and love both Jesus and all people. Notice it does not say “fruits” in this passage, but rather “fruit of the Spirit.” This means that as disciples of Jesus we are called to grow in each of those areas above (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control), not just two or three of them that we choose. Notice that practicing all of these would build up the church.

"May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."
Lord Jesus, we are so prone to build our own kingdom here on earth as though this world were Heaven. Help us to turn from ourselves and build your Kingdom on earth as in Heaven. We desire the renewal and redemption that your perfect obedience purchased for us. May your will be done, and may our obedience please your heart.
