ACTS 9:17-20
Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.
Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus. 20 At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.

REFLECT
How we start off in our faith never eliminates us from the power of the Holy Spirit to be an empowered witness to the ends of the Earth.
Today, we read of Paul’s conversion. A man, Roman by birth, who was actively persecuting Christians, then goes on to allow the Holy Spirit to become a witness in his life. Paul operated in so many giftings: tongues, prophesy, healing, faith, and teaching.
If we look at who we were before Christ, so many of us could feel disqualified, but it’s actually the empowerment of the Holy Spirit that qualifies us to be empowered to share more of the Good News.

"Forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us."
Father, you have forgiven me so much through the sacrifice and faithfulness of your Son, Jesus. Soften my heart. Help me to keep my hands and heart open wide to be generous in mercy and love towards those around me. I love you and praise, God! Amen.
