READ
Psalm 127:1-2
1 Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. 2 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

REFLECT
Mankind has a tendency to establish something and call it perfect when it is not. Flaws will always get the best of us until the Lord perfects us. Why do we build in vain? Because it doesn't remain. It will fall. Why do we watch in vain? Because eventually, we will need to sleep. God is sufficient for all things. He is literally more than enough. Efficient and faithful beyond comprehension. So stop trying to do it on your own and in your way. His ways are higher. Check with the Lord. Because if He builds the house, it's eternal.
APPLY
Q: Why do we build and watch in vain?
Q: Are you doing things your way or God's way? Pray and ask God to take over the areas that you're trying to control.
Q: Who do you know that deals with anxiety? Share this with them and remind them that we are not perfect, but we serve a perfect God.

PRAY
"Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy."
Father, there is no one good but you. Forgive us of our arrogance to think that we can play your role. You exalt the humble and humble those who exalt themselves. Incline our ears to listen to your will and our hearts to obey your commandments. In Jesus’ name.
