READ

1 Peter 2:4‭-‬5

4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:20-22

20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

REFLECT

If you're building a house for yourself and your loved ones, would you use the best materials available? I believe that most would. What we build doesn't have an eternal purpose. But God is building a Holy temple to dwell in. We are that temple, and Jesus is the foundation.

APPLY

Q: What are we being built into? Why?

Q: Are you focused on building a temporary house or being a part of an eternal temple for God?

Q: Who can you edify or build up this week? When you do so remember you're helping to build the eternal dwelling place of God!

PRAY

"May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."

Father thank you for wanting to dwell with us. You're preserving us for yourself to be with forever. Bring us closer to you and to one another as that day draws near. Give us the courage to go and gather as many as we can so that your temple is complete. In Jesus’ name.
