READ

You make springs pour water into the ravines, so streams gush down from the mountains. 11 They provide water for all the animals, and the wild donkeys quench their thirst. 12 The birds nest beside the streams and sing among the branches of the trees. 13 You send rain on the mountains from your heavenly home, and you fill the earth with the fruit of your labor. 14 You cause grass to grow for the livestock and plants for people to use. You allow them to produce food from the earth—15 wine to make them glad, olive oil to soothe their skin, and bread to give them strength. 16 The trees of the Lord are well cared for—the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. 17 There the birds make their nests, and the storks make their homes in the cypresses. 18 High in the mountains live the wild goats, and the rocks form a refuge for the hyraxes.

REFLECT

Not only is God great, powerful, and able to do all things, but he is also good. One of the ways we see his incredible goodness is in how he provides. He isn’t careless to create magnificent creatures and beings only to leave them without what they need to survive and enjoy the rest of his creation. He is good and trustworthy to provide for the needs of his creation as well. And of utmost importance to him is human beings. If he is so intent on providing for the needs of the rest of his creation, how much more zealous is he about providing for the needs of the pinnacle of his creation, the only beings who were created in God’s image. We don’t have to worry about whether or not we’ll have what we need because the God who created the universe is working on our behalf to ensure we’re provided for. Simply because it’s in his nature to do so. Let’s celebrate the greatness of God’s provision today!

PRAY

"Give us today our daily bread."

Help me to remember that you are my provider. Even when I have everything I need, let me thank you for your generosity. Even when I am in lack, let me trust in your goodness and wait patiently for you to provide what I need. I know that you will never let me fall, and you are always there. Thank you for your provision, God. In Jesus’ name, amen.
