2 CORINTHIANS 5:16-21

From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

REFLECT

A new creation and an ambassador of His reconciliation — what a mission and privilege! And it’s who you are in Christ. Through Christ, God reached down into a dark world and reconciled it back to Himself, and now He’s calling you — and all Christians — to take part in this story of redemption.

APPLY

Q: What is God trying to communicate and appeal to the world through us?

Q: Have you been reconciled back to God through Christ through repentance and baptism? If not, reach out to your community or someone at church for the next steps.

Q: What happens when the worldwide church fails to become messengers of reconciliation and grace? Why is it important to reflect on God and be His ambassadors?

PRAY

"Forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us."

Lord, you have forgiven me everything through Jesus! Please forgive me for holding onto any grudges or unforgiveness. There is so much more at stake and so many more blessings to be your ambassador of the Gospel! There’s no time for lingering in unforgiveness. Thank you, God! Amen.
