Psalm 23:1-6 (NLT)

A psalm of David.

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. 2 He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. 3 He renews my strength. He guides me along the right paths, bringing honor to his name. 4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. 5 You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. 6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Joshua1:9 (NLT)

9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go.

REFLECT

What do you think of when you hear the word shepherd? A shepherd both guides the direction of the flock and retrieves lost members of the flock. Our daily life places immense pressure on us and we are all faced with many challenges. We have a shepherd who will guide us and come after us when we are lost. Our God will not leave us to face the pressure and the challenges alone. How glorious is our shepherd!

APPLY

Q: How do you draw your strength from the shepherd?

Q: Are you following God on the right path?

SING

PRAY

"Forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us."

You are faithful God, you will not allow the temptation to be more than I can stand. When I am tempted, I know you will show me a way out so that I can endure. I will put on your armor; I will trust in you.
