PSALM 1:1-3

1 "Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.

2 But they delight in the law of the LORD,
meditating on it day and night.

3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.

REFLECT

The beauty, the benefits, the gifts of the Word are many, and they are meant to be lived in. Not just read about or known in theory, but to be experienced by those who put their faith in God. What a miracle and honored invitation this is! That through the Word God has given us, we may live in the blessing of our Creator. And this blessing, this benefit to our lives here and now is meant to be constant, ever-present, never failing. Leaves that never wither, trees that bear fruit in every season, prospering at all times. This is a promise of life. Life when the heat comes, life when the storms rage, life when circumstances are good and when they are bad. Trust in his Word today, and enter into your place along the river bank of God’s promises.
