READ

Hebrews 10:24-25, Proverbs 27:5-6

"24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

“5 An open rebuke is better than hidden love! 6 Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.”

REFLECT

Meeting together with other Christians provides encouragement and help to all.  It provides an environment to share our faith and opportunities to strengthen each other.  As difficulties arise, and they will, having the support of friends with a common mission will provide motivation and compassion.  The devil does not want us to gather and worship and will try to convince you this is not important.  But God’s word above clearly tells us we should not “neglect our meeting together”.

APPLY

Q: Why should we not neglect meeting together?

Q: Are you thinking of ways to motivate others to acts of love and good works?

Q: Who are you actively discipling?  If you aren’t, join a community to get plugged in.

PRAY

"And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one."

God, help my mission be more valuable than my comfort.  Teach me to engage in communication, presence, and forgiveness with my Christian brothers and sisters.  I truly want to be a disciple who changes this world.  I need your wisdom and Holy Spirit to help me accomplish this.  Thank you for never leaving me or forsaking me.  I know I don’t have to do this alone because you are always with me.  Thank you!
