READ
EXODUS 18:21-23
“21 But select from all the people some capable, honest men who fear God and hate bribes. Appoint them as leaders over groups of one thousand, one hundred, fifty, and ten. 22 They should always be available to solve the people’s common disputes, but have them bring the major cases to you. Let the leaders decide the smaller matters themselves. They will help you carry the load, making the task easier for you. 23 If you follow this advice, and if God commands you to do so, then you will be able to endure the pressures, and all these people will go home in peace.”

REFLECT
“Then you will be able to endure the pressures, and all these people will go home in peace.” When we are overwhelmed and trying to manage everything with our own strength, it’s easy to believe that it only is affecting us. But the reality is- when we are living overwhelmed it negatively affects those around us too. However- if we are obedient to lay our burdens at the feet of Jesus, He provides peace for us and the people around us.
APPLY
Q: Read verse 23. What are the two requirements listed that if followed will lead to peace and endurance?
Q: Pray and ask God to show you which situations you are currently trying to manage on your own.
Q: Which situations came to mind? For each one, ask yourself- have you received godly given advice on the topic? What has God commanded you to do about it?

PRAY
"Give us today our daily bread."
Praise God! You provide. You never fail us. You never let us go. Thank you Lord that you meet all of our needs in Christ, and have prepared the way before us. Thank you that we do not have to do this life alone, that you give us a community- brothers and sisters in Christ to walk with, to share our lives with, to carry our burdens with. Renew our strength today. Amen.
