READ
Acts 2:42
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26
23 For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread 24 and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this to remember me.” 25 In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this to remember me as often as you drink it.” 26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.
John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

REFLECT
As we have looked at the Last Supper (or Communion) and the Passover as an intersection of past traditions that hold a temporary promise with a new permanent eternal promise, we see how necessary it was for Christ to choose that moment in time to fulfill God's will for Himself.
Jesus threw open the doors for eternal forgiveness for sin for those who embrace Him. He has restored the original design of humankind to have unfettered communion with God. In the definition of Communion, it is described with words like “communication” and “an exchange of thoughts and feelings”. To have that kind of relationship with God is glorious beyond imagination.
We take communion, not just because Christ wanted us to remember Him, but to openly receive the promise we have through Him that all believers can share.

Q: Will you lay them at the feet of Christ when you next celebrate communion?
Q: If you aren’t sure of your faith and belief in Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection, will you seek out someone to talk about it?

"And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one."
We praise you Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for the meticulous planning and perfect timing that has brought us to Your throne in the Kingdom. You have freed us from the slavery of sin. Give us Your strength to resist the temptation to return to a life that no longer held us prisoner. Help us to see and recognize the traps Satan sets for us and flee from them toward Your grace and love.
