READ
John 15:12-17
12 ”This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. 16 You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. 17 This is my command: Love each other.”
REFLECT
How comforting and reassuring that Christ chose us to be His friends! Jesus made a choice to die for us because he loved us that much. We have a choice to accept or reject His offer for salvation and forgiveness. Jesus is asking His friends to obey Him and love each other. He showed us how to love by giving His life for His friends
APPLY
Q: What do we have to do to be Christ's friends?
Q: Are you producing lasting fruit? If not, why not?
Q: How do we model to others how to love each other? Who needs your love today?
SING
“Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury
PRAY
"And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one."
God, you are so good and holy! You showed me, true love, by sending Your Son to die for me. Help me show You how much I love You by obeying Your commands and loving others the same way You loved me. I want to produce lasting fruit Father. Show me how Lord. Thank you for being my Lord and Savior!
