PSALMS 68:4-6

Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,

extol him who rides on the clouds;

rejoice before him—his name is the LORD.

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,

is God in his holy dwelling.

God sets the lonely in families,

he leads out the prisoners with singing;

but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

REFLECT

This passage from the Bible speaks of the beauty of having a spiritual family, and how that can be a source of strength and sustenance. It reminds us that by coming together for the purpose of spiritual growth, we can become more than just a group of individuals, but a true family. The power of connection, combined with the guidance of God, creates an unbreakable bond that can carry us through any challenge or obstacle. Also note God’s goodness and power in the midst of spiritual family: He is father to the fatherless, a defender of widows. He is holy. Praise God!
