MARK 15:37-39
Then Jesus uttered another loud cry and breathed his last. 38 And the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. 39 When the Roman officer who stood facing him saw how he had died, he exclaimed, “This man truly was the Son of God!”

Mark 15:37-39 captures the powerful moment of Jesus' death on the cross. In an instant, the temple curtain was torn in two from top to bottom, signifying the access to God made available through Jesus' sacrifice. The Roman officer, an unlikely witness to Jesus' death, declared, "Truly this man was the Son of God!"
This declaration by the officer is significant because he was a Gentile, not a Jew. It demonstrates that Jesus' death on the cross was not just for the Jews but for all people. It also shows that Jesus' death had a profound impact on those who witnessed it, even those who were not followers of Jesus.

PRAY
"Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy."
Lord, we praise you that you are a holy God who cannot tolerate sin but you love us so much that you have provided a way for us to be reconciled with you. Teach me to confess Christ and follow you in every aspect of my life. Thank you for Jesus’ saving work on the cross -- that it was not just for a small group of people, but for anyone who declares you Lord and Savior.
