Philippians 1:6 “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

"Matthew 5:14-16

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

REFLECT

Every journey has a beginning. This journey with Christ can only begin one way, by trusting and believing Jesus paid the price for your sins by suffering a cruel and violent death and rose to life again so that we can share in His new life together.

In Philippians 1:6, Paul states that this is the beginning of “the good work” in your life. A good work that will continue until Christ calls us to our new home. Think about that. God declares you a “good work”.  A work that is in progress moving towards HIm.  What else did God the Father, call “good”? Examine the account of Creation in Genesis 1:3-4. He called the light “good”. You are called God’s new light in Matthew 15:14-16.  And this progress pleases Him just as the original Creation did.

The only person who can stand in the way of your journey is you. There will be times of doubt, times of anxiety, and times of drifting away from God. But through Christ, God has set you free from all these things as promised in John 8:38. Also, God never leaves us as Christ and the Holy Spirit will always be close.  The good work, the first step of your journey will always BEGIN WITH CHRIST.
