PSLAM 42:11
Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
PSALM 43:3-4
Send me your light and your faithful care,
let them lead me;
let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.
Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God, my joy and my delight.
I will praise you with the lyre,
O God, my God.
REFLECT
Knowing God is fearing and loving Him, enjoying His presence. The Psalmist reflects on the most necessary thing in life: worshipping God in His presence. Thankfully, Jesus made the way for God to dwell in His people through the Holy Spirit. This means you can worship Him in Spirit and in truth…anywhere.
APPLY
Q: Why is delighting in God in spite of discouragement important?
Q: How can you remind yourself to worship and delight in God the next time your heart is heavy?
Q: Worship is also communal. How can you lean into worshipping with your spiritual family more this week?
SING
“PRAISES” by Elevation Rhythm
PRAY
"May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."
Lord, even the rocks will cry out, so I choose to worship and delight in you today. You are my King, my fortress. I pray for your will be done on earth as it is in heaven: in my life, in my family’s life, and in my community’s life. Amen.
