READ
ROMANS 6:12-14
"Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God's grace."
REFLECT
In these verses, the apostle Paul calls believers to not let sin control the way they live and urges them to resist giving in to sinful desires. It is a reminder that as followers of Christ, we have been set free from the dominion of sin through His saving grace. Reflecting on our own lives, we can examine the areas where sin has exerted control and recognize the transforming power of God's grace to break free from its grip. It is through His grace that we experience the freedom to live righteously and make choices that honor Him. We can reflect on specific instances where God's grace has brought transformation and thank Him for His ongoing work in our lives.
To "give ourselves completely to God" means surrendering every aspect of our lives to Him, acknowledging His lordship over us. It is an act of wholehearted devotion, recognizing that we are no longer our own, but we belong to God.
