READ
Romans 5:12
12 When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.
Isaiah 53:5-6
5 But he (Jesus) was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. 6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.
Romans 10:9-10
9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

REFLECT
The disobedience of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3 ushered in sin and spiritual as well as physical death for all mankind. Here is the good news. In God’s unfailing love and grace, He made a way for us to be reconciled to Himself, to be spiritually healed, so we are free from the weight of sin and guilt. That way has a name. His name is Jesus, the son of God who came so that you and I may have life (Jn. 20:31).
Spiritual healing, known as “salvation” isn’t complicated. God made it very simple. Romans 10:9-10 tells us to openly declare that Jesus is Lord and to believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead. In doing this, we are made right with God and by our faith, we are saved. If this is your declaration today for the first time, we want to know about it so we can celebrate with you and partner with you in your walk with Jesus. If this has been your declaration of faith for many years, praise God! Let me encourage you to live with open eyes and intentionality. Be ready to share God’s plan of spiritual healing with those who are spiritually dead, for “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17).
