READ

Romans 11:33-35, John 6:67-69

33 Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

34 For who can know the Lord’s thoughts?  Who knows enough to give him advice?

35 And who has given him so much that he needs to pay it back?

67 Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, “Are you also going to leave?”

68 Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life. 69 We believe, and we know you are the Holy One of God.”

REFLECT

There is no middle ground with Jesus.  You either decide to believe and serve Him, or you reject Him. Peter made a profound statement, “You have the words that give eternal life.” It is impossible to understand all of God’s decisions and ways, just like the scripture said above.  However, worshiping God and choosing to stay close to Him even when you are in pain helps to create an unshakable, solid faith.

APPLY

Q: What was Peter’s response to Jesus when asked if he was going to leave?

Q: Do you continue to worship and commit yourself to the Lord even when you don’t understand your life circumstances?

Q: How can you be a role model for others who are hurting in this world?  Do they see you worship even in rough times?

SING

PRAY

"Give us today our daily bread."

Heavenly Father, thank you for being good, honest and true.  I may not understand everything but help me persist to worship You no matter what my circumstances are in this life.  Flood my mind with Your songs of worship and help me dwell on Your goodness and grace.  Keep me close to You Lord, no matter what!
