JOHN 15:12-17
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

REFLECT
Jesus handed down His teachings and commands to one generation. And that generation passed it down, exponentially, to others over the millennia. Praise God that faithful Christians have chosen love and the Gospel all these centuries so we can receive the Gospel. Now, it's our turn to receive the Gospel and pass it on to a new generation. Jesus commanded His disciples to love one another, and He commanded us to lay our lives down for each other. The younger and older generations need you. They need the Gospel and they need the love of Christ reflected from you.
APPLY
Q: Why does Jesus call the Disciples “friends” in this passage?
Q: How can you show love and share the Gospel with a different generation to help change the world?
Q: Who’s someone who has invested in your faith lately? How can show them gratitude and help pass it on to others?

PRAY
"May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."
Lord Jesus, your will for us has been to love one another and to be a light to the world. Lord, I look forward to when you come again and your Kingdom is fully realized here on earth as it is in heaven. Until then, lead me by your Holy Spirit to walk in love for all generations. Amen.
