6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Why come to Jesus? Because He calls us. Jesus offers us love, rest, and acceptance. He offers us a better way than the way of the world. All we have to do is believe in Him and come into a relationship with Him.

Holy Spirit, help me guard my heart against the evil one. Send your grace to me. Lord, open my mind as I read your word, and help me fortify myself against the temptations that take me away from your love. Most merciful Father, give me strength to recognize my self-righteousness and to turn from selfish desires that teardown my relationship with you and the people in my life.
