READ

PSALMS 62:5-8

“Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.”

REFLECT

Do you ever feel the need to defend yourself? Defend the way you live and why you do the things you do. Ever see how this diminishes your happiness as you face the never-ending longing to defend your honor, purpose, and calling? What if, this week you choose to see God as your defender?

Your victory and honor are in Him alone. He is your refuge. Your defender. Your rock. His purpose will prevail through the muck and mire of your life. Let Him defend your honor this week and see how it fills you up to overflowing. Choose to stand on the rock and watch God go to work on your behalf!

APPLY

Q: Where do you need to release the need to defend yourself?

Q: How can you trust God to defend your honor this week?

Q: Is there someone in your circle of influence who needs to be reminded that God is the great defender?

PRAY

"Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy."

Dear Father God, may I release the need to defend myself, trusting You to be my Defender. May I live to honor You and make You known with the life You have entrusted to me. May You receive the glory for the great work You are doing in my life.
