READ

2 Peter 1:3-8
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

REFLECT

Ever wonder how some people just seem to ooze Jesus? Like nothing bothers them. They just go around with a smile on their face, taking in the day as it comes. Could the secret be just daily adding to the character that God is developing within? Maybe we make it too complicated. Trying to be more than we can be. Maybe it’s as simple as adding a daily discipline to our lives. Removing what stunts our growth and replacing it with what produces a flow of goodness through us. God’s goodness can flow when you simply remove what blocks it from flowing.

APPLY

Q: WhaQ: What discipline in the verse could you work on today?

Q: How can you grow to be more productive for God’s Kingdom purpose?

Q: How can you spur someone on to see what they are missing?

SING

PRAY

"May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."

God, I pray that as I wait for Your Kingdom to come, I will be actively pursuing what makes me more like Jesus daily. May I become a greater version of myself every day as I develop the discipline to follow You more wholeheartedly!
