READ

John 10:1-4
“I tell you the truth, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber! But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice.”

John 10:10
“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

REFLECT

The enemy is constantly looking for a way in. His goal is to destroy you. He sneaks over the wall to bring chaos. Too often, we become victims and allow him access to places God has defeated through His Son. We must remember that anyone who comes into the space of our lives should be coming through the gate, where the gatekeeper allows or denies access. When we let Jesus guard the gate and who will enter, we find a life overflowing. The rich and satisfying life that Jesus promises us in His Word is greatly dependent on whom we give access to in our lives.

APPLY

Q: Is there anyone or anything that you have given access to in your life that you need to bring back to the gatekeeper?

Q: How can you better protect the space of your life for God’s glory?

Q: Who do you know that needs to be reminded where the rich and satisfying life truly comes from?

SING

PRAY

"Forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us."

Lord, please forgive me for the times I have given access of my heart to others. Please show me where I have given in to unhealthy ways leading to my destruction and give me the strength to replace them with the abundant life You promise me.
