JOHN 14:23-27

Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

REFLECT

Reflect on the profound promise Jesus makes in this passage. He assures us that when we love Him and obey His teachings, He and the Father will make a home with us. This is a call to cultivate an intimate relationship with God, where we are continuously guided by the Holy Spirit. Remember, this divine peace is not as the world gives, it's a peace that reassures our hearts and dispels fear. And it’s true peace because God’s presence abides in you, no matter where you are.

APPLY

Q: What role does the Holy Spirit play in your life?

Q: What’s an area of your life you need the Holy Spirit to guide you on today?

Q: Jesus’ followers are not meant to have troubled hearts. Why is this, and how can you change your world through Christ’s presence?

SING

PRAY

"Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy."

Lord, you are holy and mighty! Thank you so much that you dwell in the hearts of your people. I cannot fathom how the God of all creation can make His home and abide in me, but I praise you for who you are. Guide me today, and help me to be holy as you are holy. Amen.
