ACTS 2:42, 46
42All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper ), and to prayer…
46They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity.

REFLECT
At TNLC, we offer communion at (nearly) every service. As a means of grace established by Jesus himself, we are following the model of the early church when we share the Lord’s Supper so frequently. But that doesn’t mean it should become common or less significant. In fact, the opposite is true! We take communion because it is of central importance because we need to be reminded all the time that God has paid the price for our failures, that he has made us right with Him through the death of Jesus on the cross, and that there is no other way for us to be rescued.
APPLY
Q: Why do you think the Lord’s Supper was such an important part of the early church?
Q: When you take the Lord’s Supper, do you pause to remind yourself of its significance - that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and that by partaking you are proclaiming to yourself and those around you that you can’t be rescued any other way?
Q: If you see someone new to TNLC that seems unfamiliar with the Lord’s Supper, ask them if they have any questions and offer to explain the significance of this to them.

PRAY
"Forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us."
Lord, you are the author, the model, and the perfecter of forgiveness. We can’t offer forgiveness to others until we truly see our own brokenness, our need to be rescued by you, and the amazing grace of your resurrecting power. Impress this on my heart so that I might be able to forgive others.
