READ
John 15:10-15
10 ”When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! 12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.”

REFLECT
It’s amazing to think that God’s laws can be reduced to two simple principles. We are to love God completely AND then care for others as you care for yourself, in that order. It is crucial for us to water and weed our love for God and others. Don’t let bitterness, resentment, or disappointment weeds grow in your life. If you are not growing in God’s love, the weeds may take over.
APPLY
Q: What did Jesus say was the most IMPORTANT commandment?
Q: What do the word, prayer, worship, and church look like in your life? Are they activities? Or are they COMMITMENTS?
Q: Who do you know that has some roots of bitterness growing in their lives? How can you love them with God’s love?

"Forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us."
God remove any weeds of bitterness, resentment, disappointment, or jealousy in my life. Grow more of Your love in me. I want to love You Lord with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength! Show me how to love others like You love me.
