READ

LUKE 15:7

"7 In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!”

REFLECT

Imagine a grand celebration, a party unlike any other. This is the picture Jesus paints in the parable of the Lost Sheep.  Here, God's delight in our salvation isn't a passive emotion; it's an active, joyous response. The shepherd doesn't simply locate the lost sheep; he throws a party!

Why such exuberance? Because every soul He saves is precious. We, who were separated from God by sin, are welcomed back with open arms.  This act of redemption brings Him immense joy, a joy that surpasses our comprehension.

APPLY

Q: Take a moment today to reflect on the depth of God's love.  We are not merely tolerated; we are cherished.  How does this truth impact you today?

Q: God only commands us to go where he has gone first. In this case, God found deep joy in our salvation! Take a moment to recall your salvation - what do you remember?

Q: Think about a baptism Sunday and the testimonies that are shared by those being baptized - how can you encourage someone based on their own story?

SING

PRAY

"May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."

Lord, you are worthy of my song. You found joy in me, in bringing me out of darkness and into your glorious light. Give me the grace to rejoice in my salvation just as you do.
