Devotionals for July 5, 2024

Psalm 1:1-3

1 Oh, the joys of those who do not

follow the advice of the wicked,

or stand around with sinners,

or join in with mockers.

2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,

meditating on it day and night.

3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,

bearing fruit each season.

Their leaves never wither,

and they prosper in all they do.

We learn how to follow God by meditating on His word. That means spending time reading and thinking about how to apply God’s word to your life. This includes being open to changing your ways to become more like Him. Being more like Jesus will mean having more fruit of the Spirit within you. What could be better than that?

"And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one."

Good, Good Father! That is who you are! Thank you for loving me. I want to bear fruit in each season God, and I need Your Holy Spirit to help me do that. Prune from me what needs to go and help me grow more of Your fruit in my life.
