REVELATION 4:8-11
8 Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”
9 Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever), 10 the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say, 11 “You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.”

REFLECT
“Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hides Thee, Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see. Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee, Perfect in power, in love, and purity!”
Reginald Heber wrote these dramatic, inspiring lyrics over 200 years ago while serving as a bishop in Calcutta, India. He was inspired by today’s passage in Revelation, written by the apostle John nearly 2,000 years ago.
Holiness begins with God. It is not a comparative exercise between me and the people I know, to determine if I am a little bit ahead of or behind them. It is a majestic call to behold the Creator who is utterly unlike any of His creatures. A God who is Perfect.

Q: When was the last time you meditated on the holiness of God? Take a few minutes today to write down three things about God that make Him holy.
Q: Who in your life needs to be reminded that God is set apart, completely different from us, bigger than all of our problems and cares, and for this reason alone is worthy of our praise and our prayers? Call someone or send them a note reminding them that because God is holy, He is able to help us in our time of need.
