24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.

Ephesians 5:31-32
31 As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” 32 This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.

The union of man and woman in marriage merges two persons into one.  That means that what affects one affects the other.  It also means caring for your spouse like you care for yourself.  Marriage is a covenant - not a contract.  It’s a mutual agreement to give your whole self to the other person for the rest of your life.  And best of all - it was created by God!

Q: What analogy does the scripture give about marriage?

Q: We can experience oneness with God by giving our lives to Him. How are you giving yourself to God?

"May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."

God thank you for the blessings you have given me.  Help me to experience oneness with you Lord.  Draw me closer to You and Your love.  I want to honor You in all my relationships.  Thank you for the creation and gift of marriage.
