Proverbs 27:17
17 Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.

REFLECT
A friend of mine is a craftsman. He told me once that iron is actually not a very efficient way of sharpening iron. This struck a chord. Flawed human beings, capable of bettering each other, never do so perfectly. The messiness of relationships, the real, daily struggle of engaging with people with whom we disagree or who have personalities that differ from ours, does not take away our potential to sharpen them and, most importantly, be sharpened by them. This scripture emphasizes in a poetic fashion how imperfect relationships can still be soul-enriching.
