READ

Philippians 4:4-7
4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5 Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. 6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

REFLECT

Our inner attitudes do NOT have to reflect our outward circumstances.  Paul wrote these scriptures and he knew that no matter what happened to him, Jesus Christ was with him and this brought him much joy.  Imagine never worrying about anything!  It seems impossible, but Paul’s advice is to turn our worries into prayer.  Let God’s peace guard your heart against anxiety.

APPLY

Q: What does the above scripture tell us to do first before we will experience God’s peace?

Q: Are you praying about everything, telling Him what you need, and thank Him for all he has done in your life?  Where do you have room for improvement?

Q: How can you share God’s peace with others in your life today?

PRAY

"Give us today our daily bread."

Lord, You have always been faithful to me.  Thank you for all that You have done in my life in the past and what You will do in the future.  Teach me to pray to You when I am worried or anxious.  I want to experience Your peace in my life and help others experience it too.  May joy overflow in my life as a demonstration of my faithfulness to you!
